Teenage Paparazzo Questions

Are you obsessed with celebrities? why/why not?

No. Because they're not that important in my life.

Why do you think we celebrate celebrities?

Because we want to be them.

Is it ok for celebrities to tip off the media to generate more publicity for themselves and elevate their status as a celebrity? why/why not?

Yes. Because it's not going to hurt anyone.

Is it ok to exploit the negative things that celebrities do in order to sell magazines and does this exploitation of these acts degrade the values of society? why/why not?

No. It does, because we are violating their privacy.

Do you agree with the statement "gossip is about the people doing the gossiping not who they are gossiping about" why/why not?

No, because gossip is about people. You are talking about people.

What is a para-social relationship?

When a person had a one sided relationship with celebrities, but the celebrities have no idea they exist.

Do you engage in any para-social relationships?

No.

Do you think that our constant connection to media (social and other) creates a false reality for ourselves and how can we keep this from happening?

Yes. We can stop this from happening by getting off all types of media.

Your digital footprint is really your personal brand (combination of all your social media content) and you start building it when you start using social media, does your personal brand reflect who you really are, does it reflect who you want to be, neither, or both.

Both.

Your digital footprint/personal brand will stay with you for your entire life, do you monitor it closely and build it carefully or carelessly?

Carelessly.

Given that we have access to cameras and the internet constantly, are there ethics that should be followed when taking photographs? why/why not?

Yes. Because we have to respect people's privacy.

Given what you know about photos and manipulation (electronic, situational, etc) do you agree with the statement "A picture is worth a 1,000 lies." why/why not?

Yes. Because you can make a picture look like anything you want.
